18th Annual Summer Celebration
The Summer Celebration honored Brent Scowcroft, co-chair of the Aspen Strategy Group and National Security Advisor to Presidents Gerald Ford and George H. W. Bush. A public forum featuring Brent Scowcroft in conversation with Condoleezza Rice, former Secretary of State, Joseph S. Nye, Jr., Harvard Professior, moderated by Nicholas Burns, Aspen Strategy Group Director was held in the Greenwald Pavilion prior to the reception and dinner. At the dinner, held in the Doerr-Hosier Center, there was a special tribute in memory of Sidney Harman, Aspen Institute Trustee (2000-2011).
Three hundred people attended the reception and dinner. The Chairs for this year’s event were Institute trustee Michael Eisner, and his wife Jane. They were joined by the Honorable Jane Harman and her son, Brian Frank, who were Honorary co-chairs.
