National Service: A Civic Rite of Passage

The Aspen Institute’s Franklin Project has a bold vision for civilian national service as a common expectation and opportunity for all Americans. The National Service Summit will feature leaders from myriad fields to be active participants in this action-enabling gathering. The Summit will conclude with a public event to show the power of national service to address public challenges and will feature opening remarks by Gen. Stanley McChrystal (Ret., US Army). Panelists include: New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu; Barbara Bush, Co-founder and CEO of Global Health Corps; best-selling author and US Army veteran Wes Moore; and moderator E.J. Dionne, award-winning Washington Post columnist and fellow at the Brookings Institution. 

Greenwald Pavilion, 6:30-7:30pm.
