Winter Words with Joyce Maynard

Joyce Maynard first came to national attention with the publication of the New York Times cover story, “An Eighteen Year Old Looks Back on Life,” in 1973 when she was a freshman at Yale. Since then, she has been a reporter and columnist for The New York Times, a contributor to the CBS program “Spectrum,” a syndicated newspaper columnist whose “Domestic Affairs” column appeared in over fifty papers nationwide, and a regular contributor to National Public Radio and to many prominent national magazines. She is the author of twelve books, both fiction and non-fiction. Maynard’s memoir, At Home in the World, was an international bestseller that has been translated into eight languages, and her novel To Die For was adapted to a feature film starring Nicole Kidman. She divides her time between Mill Valley, California, and Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
