Teen Socrates 2011: Does my Voice Matter as a Teenager? Making Sense of the World in the 21st Century
Over the course of 3 days, this seminar convenes teens, ages 15-17, creating a forum where students can gain insight into what values and ideas they hold, and how those intersect with the timeless values and ideas that have shaped western civilization and the good society. By understanding these values and ideas in the discussion of classic and contemporary texts, participants are moved to voice their own opinions opening a lively dialogue where diverse viewpoints are heard, and respected, and sometimes questioned on the road to understanding the human experience. Moderated by Lee Bycel.
Teen Socrates is targeted to students who have finished grades 9-11. The fee is $425, $385 for relatives of Society of Fellows members. Scholarship funds are available.
