Pakistan, Women, and Economic Empowerment: A Roundtable with Roshaneh Zafar

Monday April 11 the Partners for a New Beginning Secretariat at the Aspen Institute convened a special briefing with KASHF micro-lending founder and Vital Voices honoree Roshaneh Zafar on developments in the area of women’s economic empowerment in Pakistan. Ms. Zafar is a member of the Pakistan local chapter of Partners for a New Beginning (PNB), a public-private partnership for which the Aspen Institute serves as Secretariat.

PNB is chaired by Former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company Muhtar Kent, and Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson. PNB is an assembled group of American leaders working in concert with local communities around the world to build public-private partnerships that address issues including women’s economic empowerment.
