2019 Workshop: Art of the Corporate-Investor ESG Conversation
Both corporate and investor interest in “ESG” is soaring as evidence mounts that attending to social, environmental and governance issues produces durable business value. And yet . . . in some boardrooms and executive suites, skepticism about ESG remains; and many wonder if the focus on ESG will go by the wayside during the next market contraction.
So where do we go from here? How will the conversation evolve and mature as the drumbeat for reliably valuing ESG practices gets louder? What are the right questions companies and investors should be asking now? These are the framing questions for this year’s “Art of the Corporate-Investor ESG Conversation” workshop.
For the past three years, the Aspen Institute Business & Society Program has invited a small number of ESG experts – select investors, senior sustainability and corporate responsibility strategists, academics and others – to take stock of where this frenzy of interest is taking ESG and explore how we can improve ESG-related conversations, both inside companies and between companies and the market.
