Society of Fellows Luncheon: What Does “Family” Mean in the 21st Century?
This luncheon will give Society of Fellows members the opportunity to learn about the transient definition of “family” in the 21st Century from Robin Lenhardt, one of the nation’s leading experts on family law. Ms. Lenhardt is a professor of law at Fordham University. She also holds a visiting professorship from Georgetown Law School, as well as the prestigious Aspen Institute Halle Scholarship, which provides emerging leaders in Justice and Society the opportunity to attend the Aspen Seminar. Her work focuses on the constantly evolving notion of “family” in the legal sector, with particular emphasis on how the law shapes and defines kinship in America, both currently and historically. She will be interviewed by Meryl Chertoff, director of the Aspen Institute’s Justice and Society Program.
This luncheon will provide attendees direct access to one of the most prominent experts in this field, allowing them to benefit from her experience and formulate their own opinions about what it means to be “family.”
