Meditation
“Some of you say, ‘Joy is greater than sorry,’ and others say, ‘Nay, sorrow is the greater.’/But I say unto you, they are inseparable.” Joy is relished when we have known sorrow, and sorrow digs a cavern in our hearts that have known joy. We only emotionally understand each of these because we have known them both. Gibran believes there is beauty in the bond between these poles – where is your truth? What joys do you feel today, and what sorrows? How are they connected to the wide spectrum of your emotions, and can they exist without the other? How can you face sorrow and embrace joy better knowing each is possible because of the other?
