Kylon Hooks is a community leader and Blacktivist with over ten years of community health experience, leading change through intersectional, Anti- Oppression lenses. Kylon’s extensive experience working with Trans/Gender Non-Binary (T/GNB), LGBQIA+ youth populations, youth experiencing homelessness, and other societally marginalized groups have been steeped in the most radical Social Justice approaches including, Harm-Reduction, Restorative and Transformative Justice, and Trauma-Informed/Healing Centered practices. When Kylon is not working in community, he is reading (or watching) Sci-Fi that centers the work and story-telling of Black and Brown authors and creatives, hiking in any of Chicago’s or Illinois beautiful nature reserves, or dancing to his favorite House Music beats.
