In this eight-week series, participants gather to discuss key foreign policy issues facing the world today. Led by volunteer moderators, participants will engage in moderated discussions with their fellow citizens. This year’s topics will include Biden’s Agenda, Changing Demographics, Industrial Policy, Outer Space, Quad Alliance, Russia and the US, Drug Policy in Latin America and Climate Change.

This year’s series will be held in person at the Aspen Meadows. Participants will be asked to show vaccination status and a negative COVID test result before each session. The Aspen Institute will provide tests for each session.

February 10 – Outer Space: The launch of Sputnik I in October 1957 marked the beginning of the space era and of the space race between the United States and the Soviet Union. In the 21st century, there are many more participants in space, including countries such as India and China, and commercial companies such as SpaceX. How will the United States fare in a crowded outer space?

Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 p.m. beginning Thursday, January 20, running through Thursday, March 10 in the Koch Building at the Aspen Institute.

Fee: $225, includes all sessions, readings, and light refreshments. Scholarships available.

*Topics and the dates they are presented are subject to change.
