Passes for the 2023 Aspen Ideas Festival Go On Sale; New Programming Details Announced

Aspen, CO, November 18, 2022–Passes for the 2023 Aspen Ideas Festival  and Aspen Ideas: Health are on sale and press registration is open now, organizers announced, in addition to new programming details for next year’s event taking place in the Rocky Mountains. There are more ticketing options and ways to attend at www.aspenideas.org. New this year, there is an early bird rate available for passes purchased before Jan. 1.

The Aspen Ideas Festival comprises three segments and is opened by Aspen Ideas: Health from June 21-24, followed by Festival 1 from June 24- 27, and Festival 2 from June 27-30. The festival is organized by the Aspen Institute in partnership with NBCUniversal News Group.

Now in its 19th year, the Aspen Ideas Festival is the Aspen Institute’s signature public convening. Plans for 2023 include additional opportunities for attendees to participate and engage with speakers through workshops, roundtables, field trips, and seminars, as well as more night-time programming taking place in-town at locations including the Belly Up and Hotel Jerome. Popular venues introduced in 2022, including open spaces that bring the outdoors in, will return.

As in previous years, the festival will feature hundreds of the most exciting leaders and thinkers from around the globe engaging in deep discussion of the ideas and issues that shape our lives and challenge our times, from geopolitics to the most exciting developments in science and culture. 

2023 Aspen Ideas Festival Themes:

  • Defining Economic Recovery
    How do we balance the benefits of economic growth and   prosperity against geopolitical, environmental, and social risk?
  • Age of Uncertainty: Imagining a New World Order
    The international community faces unprecedented threats. What will geopolitical arrangements look like going forward?
  • We the People
    If America was founded upon ideas and not identities, what happens if we become a nation of tribes that cannot agree upon our unifying beliefs? Can we form a “more perfect union”?
  • Fueling the Future
    What energy innovations will steer us toward net-zero, and how fast? What are the obstacles and tradeoffs?
  • The Edge of What We Know
    From Artificial Intelligence to space and the deep sea, what can we learn from innovators at the edges of science and technology?
  • The Mind
    We’re living in what’s been called the “golden age of neuroscience.” What could this mean for human thriving?
  • Life Well Lived
    From the earliest philosophers and in all religious traditions, humankind has long explored what gives our lives shape and meaning. What makes life in the 21st century worth living?
  • Viewpoints
    This open-ended track gives us a broad spectrum to explore trends, game changers, newsmakers, and other pressing issues of the day.

Aspen Ideas: Health celebrates its 10th year in 2023, and will return to highlight pioneering thinking in science, medicine, and well-being, featuring conversations with visionary leaders, innovators, and advocates in health. The 2023 Aspen Ideas: Health themes include: The Power of Design, The Science of Tomorrow, The Healing Economy, Planet Health, Spotlight on Women’s Health, How to Thrive, and The Senses. The Aspen Ideas Festival continues its partnership with NBCUniversal News Group, building off the success of the 2022 festival which saw content featuring NBC News, CNBC, and MSNBC reporters at the festival reach audiences nationwide. The agreement includes an editorial and programming collaboration to jointly create engaging and informative festival content and even further extend the reach of the festival’s on-the-ground events, partners and sponsors to audiences across NBCU News Group’s wide-reaching broadcast, cable, digital, audio and streaming platforms.
