Description

Target, which employs more than 400,000 people, has doubled down on its commitment to make daily life better for its frontline workforce, including developing and implementing innovative opportunities for upskilling and mobility. This brief, by the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp) and UpSkill America at the Aspen Institute, shares insights from that effort. It describes Target’s experience building a skills taxonomy, opening a talent marketplace, offering new skills-building and skills-demonstration opportunities to employees, and investing in leadership development. Target also launched a partnership with the talent organization Guild, which granted employees tuition-free access to undergraduate and associate degrees, certificates, and bootcamp programs from more than 40 colleges, universities, and learning providers.
