Washington, DC, February 22, 2024– The New Voices Advanced Advocacy Program (AAP) will champion five locally-rooted, globally networked leaders who are advocating for and building more equitable health and development systems. The cohort of leaders were selected from Aspen Global Innovators Group’s New Voices Fellowship-alumni community of nearly 200 fellows across 55 countries.

Over the past decade, New Voices Fellow-alumni have authored more than 2,000 Op-Eds, raised over $48 million in post-fellowship funding for their organizations, and positively impacted the lives of over 400 million people through development policy.  The launch of the Advanced Advocacy Program marks an exciting milestone for the Aspen Global Innovators Group and its commitment to empowering the next generation of proximate leaders with local and lived expertise in the global health and development sectors.

“As the world becomes increasingly complex and interdependent, there is an urgent need for continuing to invest in the leadership and advocacy visions of  innovative leaders with lived and learned expertise and groundbreaking, equity focused solutions within the global health and development landscape,” Lola Adedokun, Executive Director of the Aspen Global Innovators Group, said. “I am delighted to introduce this inaugural group of leaders  and warmly welcome them to the Advanced Advocacy Program. These leaders have proven their ability to make a profound impact on a global scale, and we are humbled to support them in furthering their impact.”

The fellows were chosen for their strategic vision and proven track record as global change-makers. The program will further invest in these leaders by providing individualized mentorship, storytelling and advocacy training as well as $20,000 in flexible funding to implement their advocacy plans. The fellows will execute plans to  build on their continuing success tackling critical global challenges and driving transformative change in their sectors.
