Shaden is an educator, activist, inspirer, organizer, facilitator, peacemaker, adventurer, advocate, and connector. In her most recent role as Program Director for One Common Unity, she provided programmatic leadership to OCU’s flagship program, Fly By Light. The program focused on social-emotional literacy, health and wellness, artistic expression, environmental stewardship, and social justice, impacting thousands of youth across the District of Columbia. Over the last 15 years, she has worked for various non-profit organizations focused on youth development, justice housing, and community peacebuilding.
Shaden is a graduate of American University’s School of International Service, where she completed the International Peace and Conflict Resolution program. In her free time, she loves to travel the globe and learn about other cultures, listen to live music, enjoy various movement practices and soak up good outdoor adventures.
