New York, NY, July 1st — Today, the Aspen Institute Business & Society Program launches the second cohort of its Economic Mobility Fellowship, welcoming 14 Fellows from major corporations committed to advancing the role of business in expanding economic mobility in America.

“We are so excited to announce the next class of change-makers in business who are focused on economic inequality—one of the greatest challenges of our time,” said Jaime Bettcher, Director of the Economic Mobility Fellowship. “Companies are recognizing the risks that lie in growing inequality and are taking innovative approaches — and leveraging the scale and skill of the private sector — to create opportunity for people and their business.”

The cohort announced today embarks on a year-long Fellowship in which each Fellow will scale and optimize an innovative project within their company that promotes economic stability and opportunity for low-income individuals and families in the U.S. The Economic Mobility Fellowship offers participants a supportive network of collaborators as well as the skills, tools and coaching to lead change in large, complex, for-profit institutions. Made possible thanks to the generous support of the Ballmer Group, the Fellowship aims to contribute to a growing body of knowledge on how corporate practice can support greater economic mobility.
