The Aspen Institute Initiative on Financial Security (Aspen IFS) Executive Director, Lisa Mensah, steered a lunchtime keynote discussion at the National Academy of Social Insurance’s (NASI) ‘Social Insurance in a Market Economy: Obstacles and Opportunities’ conference. Mensah, Chair of NASI’s board, introduced Drew Weston, Professor of Psychology at Emory University and Founder of Weston Strategies, who delivered a talk on ‘Messaging Social Insurance: Reframing the Debate.’
While the two-day conference delved into components connected to all aspects of Social Insurance, from the future of health care to disability insurance, Weston’s keynote focused on tying together much of the policy solutions discussed into terms that resonate with Americans.
