Last November we honored tennis legend and Founder of the Women’s Sports Foundation Billie Jean King with the Preston Robert Tisch Award in Civic Leadership. In advance of our May 31 Sports & Society Program‘s symposium on Title IX and Beyond: How to Get the Rest of Our Girls Into the Game, we looked back at what Billie Jean King said that night about Title IX. In her talk she emphasized the importance of girls being inspired by seeing other women and girls participate in sports.
