Vartan Gregorian, president of the Carnegie Corporation of New York, discussed philanthropy at a recent event in the Foundation Presidents’ Series. Gregorian discussed Carnegie’s support of higher education in Africa and his pride in the record numbers of women scholars in the program. He also talked about work with the Gates Foundation to improve higher education domestically. “We have college access, but not necessarily quality access,” said Gregorian.
