Apply to Be a Social Media Ambassador at the Project Play Summit

July 20, 2017  • Arica Van Boxtel

The Aspen Institute is looking for social media ambassadors to participate in the Institute’s Project Play Summit in Washington, DC, on September 6, 2017.

The 2017 Project Play Summit is the nation’s premier gathering of leaders at the intersection of youth, health, and sports. With a theme of “Creating a New Scoreboard for Youth Sports” and a focus on building healthier communities through active sport, Project Play will explore alternate ways to measure success via emerging metrics, introduce major new initiatives, and hear from 50+ industry leaders and grassroots innovators.

As a social media ambassador, you will share opinions, observations, and exclusive previews with your social audience using the hashtag #projectplay. You will get free entrance, priority seating, and opportunities for behind-the-scenes access to engage with speakers and attendees.

The Project Play Summit will feature a keynote address by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred and panels that will discuss themes from the report “Sport for All, Play for Life: A Playbook to Get Every Kid in the Game.”

Being a social media ambassador is a great opportunity to share the key messages of the day with a larger audience and to move the dialogue on building healthy, active communities forward. The ideal ambassador will:

  • Have a large following on one or multiple social media platforms
  • Possess a strong passion for building healthy active communities
  • Demonstrate a keen eye for creative digital storytelling

If you work for an organization with a mission that relates to Project Play’s goals, specify in your application if you would like to cover from your personal and organization account. Please note, transportation and lodging are not provided by the Aspen Institute.

You can apply now to be a social media ambassador by filling out the form below. Applications are due by 11:59 PM EDT on Tuesday, August 8. [UPDATE: The deadline to apply has been extended to 9:00 am ET on August 15]. Following the Aspen Institute on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram is not required, but highly recommended.
