Closing the Workforce Skills Gap with Jamie Dimon, Rahm Emanuel, Melody Barnes, Walter Isaacson (Washington, DC – Thursday, December 12, 2013.)
The numbers seem to contradict each other: unemployment continues to be high across the globe, but recent data reveals that almost 50% of employers are having trouble finding workers who are trained for the jobs that are available, particularly in skilled labor and professional positions in the US. What can we do to ensure that people are trained and competitive for the skilled jobs of the 21st century?
This event consists of a dialogue featuring Melody Barnes, Chair of the Forum for Community Solutions at the Aspen Institute, Former Assistant to the President & Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council; Jamie Dimon, Chairman & CEO of JPMorgan Chase & Co.; and Rahm Emanuel Mayor of Chicago. Moderated by Walter Isaacson, President & CEO The Aspen Institute.
