Reckoning with Women’s Wealth Inequality

On behalf of the Aspen Institute’s Financial Security Program and the Closing the Women’s Wealth Gap initiative, we are pleased to announce the inaugural Reckoning with Women’s Wealth Inequality action forum in Washington, D.C. on November 8, 2018. This first-of-its kind event gathered leaders from the public, private, and independent sectors with the goal of spurring greater attention and leadership commitment to closing the women’s wealth gap.  We invite you to watch our nationally live-streamed opening dialogue, where several distinguished national leaders shared ideas and insights on this critical issue.

Teresa Younger – President and CEO, Ms. Foundation for Women

Brief welcoming remarks  were offered by Ida Rademacher, Vice President, Aspen Institute & Executive Director, Financial Security Program, and Heather McCulloch, Executive Director, Closing the Women’s Wealth Gap.

“Women have the answers to help and heal their communities, and we have to trust them to do that.” @MsTeresaYounger #WomensWealth https://buff.ly/2OaoPuY

“Single women own less than 1/3 of what single men own. Black and Latina women own less than a penny compared to white men and pennies to white women.” Heather McCulloch of @womenswealthgap #WomensWealth https://buff.ly/2OaoPuY

Now is the time to ask, “Who benefits from our public and economic policies.” If the answer isn’t women, now is the time for change. #WomensWealth @womenswealthgap https://buff.ly/2OaoPuY
