Emily Jeanne Miller & Curtis Sittenfeld in conversation January 29
Emily Jeanne Miller graduated from Princeton University, then worked as a newspaper reporter before attending graduate school at the University of Montana, where she earned a master’s in environmental studies. While there, she edited an anthology of writing about western Montana’s Clark Fork River Basin (“The River We Carry with Us”), and also discovered her passion for fiction writing, which took her to Gainesville, Florida, for an MFA. Her short fiction has appeared in various literary journals, and she is the author of the novels “Brand New Human Being” and “The News from the End of the World.” She has received fellowships from Yaddo, The MacDowell Colony, the Vermont Studio Center, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and Aspen Words. She currently lives and writes on Cape Cod with her husband, daughter and dog.
Curtis Sittenfeld is the New York Times best-selling author of the novels “Prep,” “The Man of My Dreams,” “American Wife,” “Sisterland” and “Eligible,” which have been translated into 30 languages. Her short stories have appeared in The New Yorker, The Washington Post Magazine, Esquire and “The Best American Short Stories.” Her nonfiction has been published in The New York Times, The Atlantic, Time and Glamour, and broadcast on public radio’s “This American Life.” She most recently published a book of short stories, “You Think It, I’ll Say It.” A native of Cincinnati, she currently lives with her family in St. Louis.
