We partnered with the International Folk Art Market to hold our first Alliance working conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico on July 15 and 16. Members of the Alliance and others joined with selected artisans nominated by the International Folk Art Market to discuss common issues, best practice, and to move forward on key activities of the Alliance together. After convening for an evening reception and dinner on Monday, July 15 to honor Clare Brett Smith, pioneer in the field of artisan enterprise and the first recipient of the Alliance for Artisan Enterprise Artisan Hero Award. We then met from 8:30 -– 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at Museum of International Folk Art for a day of participatory sessions and discussions.
