Symposium on the State of Race in America

The Aspen Institute Symposium on the State of Race in America explores the opportunities and challenges for people of color in 21st century America. It will consider how the country has made progress on the racial front and examine why familiar race-related problems persist. The Symposium on the State of Race in America will be held at the Newseum in Washington, DC. Juan Williams of Fox News and Jose Diaz-Balart of Telemundo will moderate the discussion. The Symposium will touch on individual, cultural, institutional and structural causes of racial problems, looking towards new and viable solutions. The Symposium will feature five substantive panel sessions: Political Factors, the Latino Vote, the New American Identity, Education, and News Media. By invitation only.
