Pursuit of Happiness Hour – Civil Dignity
The eleventh in a weekly series reimagining society post COVID-19. Our first ten meetings have moved from the social to the personal, from reimagining the social contract to reimagining ourselves, from the global to the local. In all of these conversations, we have addressed the institutional and cultural dynamics of the social contract in its various forms. To what extent can disobedience and dialogue enhance rather than diminish dignity within our civic life? What is the state of our experiment in “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”? Where do we go next?
