Dead Man Walking: An Opera for Our Times

The Aspen Institute Arts Program, Aspen Global Health and Development, and the Justice and Society Program invite you to join us at the Aspen Institute for a lunchtime discussion featuring the Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center. Policy experts and production members will address the timely issues presented in the Washington National Opera’s run of Dead Man Walking, a modern opera chronicling the journey of a death row inmate. The panel discussion will be moderated by Damian Woetzel, Director of the Aspen Institute Arts Program, and feature Francesca Zambello, Artistic Director of the Washington National Opera; cast member Catherine Martin; and John Bessler, noted death penalty scholar and Associate Professor of Law at the University of Baltimore.
