Blood Brother, NEW VIEWS Documentaries & Dialogue, co-presented by the Aspen Institute Arts Program and Aspen Film
Winner of both the Best US Documentary and the Audience Awards at Sundance, this moving portrait celebrates the unmistakable power of love, following one young man’s decision to move to India and restart his life among the dispossessed. “Rocky Anna,” as children living at an orphanage for those infected with HIV know him, was dissatisfied with his life in America. Having grown up without the support of a close-knit family, Rocky took an impromptu trip to India and found his calling, living and working with kids in need. Unlike others who simply passed through their lives, Rocky has stayed, dedicating himself to their health and wellbeing. Director Steve Hoover — Rocky’s best friend — chronicles Rocky’s newfound life in this beautifully crafted personal film. Blood Brother is a testament to one person’s ability to create a meaningful life. Q&A with Director Steve Hoover immediately following.
NEW VIEWS is made possible by generous donations from Leonard Lauder & Jane and Michael Eisner.
