Sandra Day O’Connor Conversation Series: Associate Justice Elena Kagan
To honor Aspen Institute Lifetime Trustee and retired U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, the Justice & Society Program has created the Sandra Day O’Connor Conversation series. This four-year series will bring distinguished speakers to Aspen to discuss topics that the Justice cares so much about, including civic education, judicial independence, and promotion of the rule of law internationally. The inaugural O’Connor Conversation featured Associate Justice Elena Kagan of the U.S. Supreme Court. Justice O’Connor’s first Supreme Court Law Clerk, Hon. Ruth M. McGregor, introduced Justice Kagan, and Hon. Margaret Marshall, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, was featured in conversation with her.
