Responsible Business Lending Announcement
Concerned by these problematic lending practices, a multi-faceted coalition of organizations has come together to create a Small Business Borrower’s Bill of Rights that defines responsible small business lending. The bill of rights outline six fundamental financing rights that all small businesses deserve, and specify lender and broker practices that uphold those rights.
Small business financing is undergoing a transformation, with the potential for both meaningful improvements and irresponsible lending. The event celebrates the announcement of the first consensus regarding responsible small business lending practices.
There will be a keynote address by Karen Mills, former Administrator of the Small Business Administration, followed by the announcement and a panel moderated by Michael Barr, former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, with nonprofit and for-profit small business lenders, credit marketplaces, brokers, and advocates.
