Algorithms, Airwaves, and Influencers:
The State of Political Media Heading Into the 2024 Presidential Election

October 15th
6:00 – 8:00 pm EST

In an era of endless content and institutional mistrust, the political media landscape of 2024 represents fraught terrain for news consumers. Social platforms are subject to hijacking by trolls while propaganda has become weaponized by political parties and foreign adversaries alike. How do we ensure a healthier media ecosystem that promotes more productive discourse?

Join us for a candid conversation with Mike Rothman, President of The Dispatch, as we explore how technological advancements, shifting audience behaviors, and evolving journalistic practices are reshaping the way we make sense of the world around us.

Mike Rothman is President of The Dispatch. He most recently co-founded and served as CEO of Fatherly, the leading digital lifestyle brand for dads. Previously Rothman was one of the founding employees at Thrillist. He is an active investor/advisor across more than a dozen category-leading organizations, including American Express, BARK, BDG, Blavity Media Group, Jolie Skincare, Stacker, Tiny Beans and Vox Media. Rothman serves on a number of non-profit boards, including The Moth and ProPublica in addition to being on the business advisory council for Hot Wheels. He was named one of Ad Age’s 40 Under 40 and Ideo and Melinda Gates’ Care 100 Changemakers in advancing the state of care in the world.
