Spring concert featuring pianist and singer Stefan Scaggiari
Pianist and singer Stefan Scaggiari is a performer with dazzling versatility at home with Ellington, Gershwin, Mozart and Rachmaninoff. He is also renowned as a jazz improviser.
Known nationally and internationally for his work on National Public Radio and Concord Records, Stef has over 30 recordings, and has performed worldwide in Brazil, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey and Japan. In North America, he has appeared either as a classical or jazz piano soloist with the National Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Aspen Festival Orchestra and the Calgary Symphony.
Scaggiari has also performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Shriver Hall Series at Johns Hopkins University and the Concord/Fujitsu Festival. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music and holding a Masters’ degree from Peabody, Scaggiari has deep roots in the classical tradtion.
This concert will include works by Chopin, Schumann and Brahms as well as several more contemporary composers.
