Listen, Shoot, and Learn: Two Generations of Film-makers Share Perspectives on the Changing Face of Storytelling

Paul and Holly Fine share a film career that spans four decades and are known for their “distinctive style while giving a human face to complex, contemporary issues.” Their productions include documentaries for 60 Minutes, Nightline, CBS Reports, and 20/20, earning them four Peabody Awards, 80 Emmys, the New York Film Festival grand prize, and many more.

Sean Fine and Andrea Nix-Fine are Oscar, Emmy, and Peabody award-winning filmmakers (and Academy Award nominees), noted for their “unflinching, spirit-raising, visually ravishing” style. Starting at National Geographic, they have produced such acclaimed films as Inocente, Life According to Sam, and War/Dance.

Following the speaker event, Fellows may extend their evening by joining Paul and Holly and Sean and Andrea for an intimate, three-course candlelit dinner with wine pairings ($70 per person, first come/first served). Host moderators at each table will ensure lively discussion of the “changing face of storytelling” continues over dinner, as we seek to expand our knowledge and understanding of how filmmaking is changing with the times.
