The Performing Arts: Reopening and Returning to a Changed World
Public Theater Artistic Director and Aspen Institute Harman/Eisner Artist in Residence Oskar Eustis and Saheem Ali, The Public’s Associate Artistic Director and Resident Director, marked the impending reopening of one of our most storied venues — the Delacorte Theater in New York City’s Central Park — for The Public’s Free Shakespeare in the Park. Speaking from the Delacorte, they discussed the return of theater to a changed world, the continued relevance of Shakespeare’s plays, and their production of The Merry Wives of Windsor adapted by Jocelyn Bioh and directed by Ali.
Presented by the Aspen Institute Arts Program at the Aspen Ideas Festival.
