Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) and Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) recently took part in the panel “Accelerating 21st Century Cures,” part of the 2015 Aspen Ideas Festival. A quintessential bipartisan Institute event, this panel built momentum behind and advocated for the transformation of biopharmaceutical research and development, an important issue that would improve the health and wellbeing of millions of Americans.

Less than two weeks after this event, the 21st Century Cures Act passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in the US House of Representatives, and it awaits action by the US Senate.
