Washington, DC, November 3, 2022 – Senior representatives from the US government’s cybersecurity response will headline the seventh annual Aspen Cyber Summit, including top officials from the NSA, CIA, FBI, Treasury Department, Pentagon, FTC, DHS, and White House.
On Wednesday, November 16, top leaders from business, state and federal government, and civil society will take the stage at the 92nd Street Y in New York City to discuss the world’s urgent cybersecurity issues. Session topics range from information disorder during the 2022 midterms to cyber lessons from the war in Ukraine—the full programming agenda is now available at aspencybersummit.org/agenda and featured below.
The 2022 Summit will kick off with DHS Under Secretary for Policy Rob Silvers addressing the reality of today’s digital threat. Later that afternoon, FBI Deputy Director Paul Abbate will discuss the Bureau’s views on how to meet the current cyber threat landscape with Wall Street Journal Senior Reporter Aruna Viswanatha.
A year after a major ransomware attack on the Colonial Pipeline highlighted the risks to our nation’s oil and gas infrastructure, the head of the TSA, David Pekoske, the agency that oversees pipeline cybersecurity, will appear as the midday keynote alongside the CEO of a major Fortune 500 energy company, Alan Armstrong of Williams Companies, to discuss protecting the nation’s critical infrastructure.
The day will close out with White House Principal Deputy National Cyber Director Kemba Walden, who will join John Carlin, the founding chair of the Aspen Institute’s cyber program and a current partner at Paul Weiss, to discuss the launch and agenda of the Office of the National Cyber Director.
The day will also feature a rare appearance by CIA cyber director Andrew Boyd, who will join a panel with fellow US intelligence representatives NSA Cybersecurity Collaboration Center Director Morgan Adamski, Cyber Threat Intelligence Integration Center Director Laura Galante, and FBI Cyber Division Assistant Director Bryan A. Vorndran–moderated by Click Here Host & Executive Producer and The Record by Recorded Future Senior Correspondent Dina Temple-Raston.
