Aspen Institute to host Summit on October 2nd; CNN announced as media partner

Washington, DC, September 23, 2019–– The fourth annual Aspen Cyber Summit will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd in New York City, its first time in the city. Leading policymakers, private sector experts, and innovators will discuss today’s most pressing issues in cybersecurity and technological innovation. The day-long event will take place in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall.
The keynote will be delivered by U.S. Secret Service Director James M. Murray, and topics addressed as part of the policy agenda will include disinformation in an election year, transnational supply chains and national security, securing internet infrastructure, and emerging threats. Speakers include U.S. Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers; Jigsaw Director of R&D Yasmin Green; CrowdStrike President Shawn Henry; former White House Homeland Security Advisor Lisa Monaco, now a partner at O’Melveny & Meyers, distinguished senior fellow at NYU Law School, and co-chair of the Aspen Cybersecurity Group; Defense Innovation Unit Director for Cyber Jeff Kleck; Nazak Nikakhtar, the Assistant Secretary for Industry and Analysis, International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce; Cloudflare CEO and Co-Founder Matthew Prince; and Richard Stengel, former Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, as well as CISA Deputy Director Matthew Travis from the Department of Homeland Security.
The Aspen Cyber Summit also today announced CNN as the exclusive media partner. Journalists including Kylie Atwood, Pamela Brown, Jim Sciutto, and Brian Stelter will drive discussion throughout the day and report from the Summit.
