Aspen Institute Announces New Speakers for 2024 Aspen Cyber Summit

Leaders of the FTC, FCC, and CFPB to appear together for rare joint discussion of tech regulation and data privacy

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 7, 2024 – The chairs of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will join the director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) for an unprecedented discussion on tech regulation and data privacy at the 2024 Aspen Cyber Summit. This adds to the event’s already star-studded lineup of cybersecurity and tech policy experts set to appear on stage in the nation’s capital on September 18.

The first public appearance together by FTC Chair Lina Khan, FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel, and CFPB Director Rohit Chopra will be the closing keynote at the ninth annual Cyber Summit, held at the REACH at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Other high-level speakers who have been previously announced include a session featuring all of the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, with leadership from the Australian Cyber Security Centre, the New Zealand National Cyber Security Centre, the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, the UK National Cyber Security Centre, and the US National Security Agency. 

Newly confirmed speakers for the 2024 Aspen Cyber Summit include:

  • Jessica Rosenworcel, Chair, Federal Communications Commission
  • Sezaneh Seymour, VP and Head of Regulatory Risk & Policy, Coalition, Inc.

The Aspen Cyber Summit is the Aspen Institute’s premier annual technology and cybersecurity conference, bringing together leading national and international voices from government, industry, and civil society. Since its inception in 2016, the Aspen Cyber Summit — which previously has been held in Boston, San Francisco, New York City, and Aspen — regularly hosts the biggest names in cybersecurity and national security, including White House and administration leaders, members of Congress, Fortune 100 executives, and thinkers from academia and civil society.
