Aspen Institute Nonprofit Sector and Philanthropy Program Seeks Students for William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students
WASHINGTON, DC, March 8, 2007 – The Aspen Institute Nonprofit Sector and Philanthropy in Washington, DC, seeks students for the William Randolph Hearst Endowed Fellowship for Minority Students for the 2007 summer semester. Application deadline is March 15, 2007.
The fellowship, which is based on academic excellence and need, is open to continuing undergraduate or graduate students who are members of minority groups. The Hearst Fellow serves as an intern with the Program, and assists in general research and program support.
An ideal candidate should have a strong background in the social sciences or humanities with outstanding research, writing and communication skills. The candidate must demonstrate financial need and work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer semester. American citizenship is required.
A fellowship grant of $2,500 to $5,000 will be awarded, depending on the recipient’s educational level, financial need, and time commitment. All travel and housing costs must be covered by the student.
Please send: 1) a letter of interest (include information about dates of availability for the fellowship); 2) a resume; 3) a transcript; 4) a letter from the appropriate university financial aid officer certifying demonstrated financial need; and 5) two letters of reference.
There is no application form for this fellowship.
