Aspen, CO, June 18, 2019 — Aspen Ideas: Health begins in Aspen, CO, on June 20 and runs until June 23. Presented by the Aspen Institute, the three-day event (previously known as Spotlight Health) opens the Aspen Ideas Festival and features more than 200 speakers engaging with urgent health care challenges and exploring cutting-edge innovations in medicine and science.
In 2019, themes will include ethics and values in health, improving mental health, patient empowerment, healthcare and the finance sector, developments in health technology, gut health and inflammatory diseases, and the contradictions of “sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll.” The full schedule of panels, interviews, screenings and more is now available to view here: https://www.aspenideas.org/schedule
Speakers include Jerome Adams, U.S. Surgeon General; Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA); Esther Choo, Strategic Lead, Time’s Up Healthcare; Shirley Franklin, Former Mayor of Atlanta; Robert Redfield, Director, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Eric Topol, Executive Vice President of Scripps Research; Leana Wen, President, Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund; and Ruth Westheimer, Sex Therapist and Author.
