October 1, 2015  • UpSkill America

UpSkill America is an employer-led movement to expand opportunity for America’s workers and allow our economy and communities to thrive. As part of our mission to advance the upskilling movement, we are pleased to share the following news featuring one of our partners.

Hilton Worldwide today announced a new industry-leading GED Assistance benefit that will give thousands of eligible employees the opportunity to earn their high school equivalency diploma. The GED Assistance program is available to all full-time U.S. employees at owned and managed hotels and corporate offices with six months of service or greater. The new benefit will provide one-on-one advising and test preparation support. It will be free of charge for employees, and will also cover the cost of taking the GED tests.

Hilton is working with the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) on this program. CAEL is a leading national nonprofit whose goal is to provide adults with easier access to education and learning opportunities. Hilton estimates that the GED Assistance program will benefit approximately 5,000 employees in the United States across the company’s owned and managed hotels and corporate offices.
