Please share your insights on digital skills and the Latino workforce! The Aspen Institute’s Latinos and Society Program and UpSkill America initiative are partnering on a new project on digital skills and the Latino workforce – which includes a nationwide survey and series of interviews – to study:
- how employers feel about the digital skill needs of their companies,
- the type of resources employers and workforce development organizations need to support digital skills development for the Latino workforce, with a special focus on non-native English speaking immigrant and first-generation workers, and
- the types of programs employers and education and training providers are investing in to develop the digital skills of the Latino workforce, with a special focus on non-native English-speaking immigrants and first-generation workers.
This work builds on UpSkill America’s year-long study to learn how the pandemic and heightened attention to racial inequities have influenced companies’ skill needs, hiring practices, education and training programs, diversity, equity and inclusion work, and worker supports. Additionally, Latino Inclusion in the Digital Economy, a 2021 report published by Aspen Institute’s Latinos and Society Program, identified how the technological changes that the pandemic accelerated are impacting the Latino workforce and business owners, and what industry, governments, and non-profits can do to address the Latino digital skills divide.
Take the Digital Skills and the Latino Workforce Survey
Results of this survey will be shared through a written report and a virtual public presentation. We know your time is valuable and we appreciate your sharing your experience and insights. We hope you will find the survey results useful to your work. In addition, we will select five respondents at random to receive a $100 gift card. You may also elect to have the money donated to a nonprofit of your choice.
We expect this survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete. Please complete by Friday, December 10. Your responses will be kept confidential. We will not attribute any of your responses to you or your organization unless we receive explicit permission from you to do so.

¡Comparta su experiencia en habilidades digitales y fuerza laboral latina! El Programa Latinos and Society y la iniciativa UpSkill America del Aspen Institute unen fuerzas para trabajar en un nuevo proyecto sobre habilidades digitales y fuerza laboral latina, que incluye una encuesta nacional y una serie de entrevistas, para estudiar:
- cómo se sienten los empleadores respecto a las necesidades digitales y tecnológicas de sus empresas,

Este trabajo está basado en un estudio realizado por UpSkill America durante este último año para conocer cómo la pandemia y la mayor atención a las desigualdades raciales han influido en las habilidades que están buscando las empresas, las prácticas de empleo, los programas de educación y capacitación, el trabajo en temas de diversidad, equidad e inclusión y el apoyo en general a los trabajadores. A esto se suma Latino Inclusion in the Digital Economy, un informe del 2021 publicado por el Aspen Institute’s Latinos and Society Program, que identificó cómo los cambios tecnológicos que se aceleraron por la pandemia están afectando a los trabajadores y dueños de negocios latinos, y qué pueden hacer las industrias, gobiernos y organizaciones sin fines de lucro para acortar la brecha de habilidades digitales que enfrentan los trabajadores latinos.
