How Trump Can Help Workers

Donald Trump has been elected president in large part by massive numbers of Americans frustrated with their stagnant wages, disappearing benefits, fraying supports, and more. To answer their call for greater economic stability, President-elect Trump should work to reinvigorate the overtime rule.

Right now, if your annual salary is more than $23,660, your employer can require you to work 60, 70, 80 hours a week with no obligation to pay you anything more, as long as you are classified as an “executive, administrative or professional” employee.

Why is this important?

By supporting the overtime rule fix, President-elect Trump can keep his promises to workers.
