Adrianna Quintero (Washington, DC) is the Director of Partner Engagement for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and Executive Director of Voces Verdes. Adrianna started as an attorney in NRDC’s Environment and Health program litigating working on pesticides, toxic chemicals and safe drinking water, clean air, environmental justice, and US-Mexico border issues. She currently runs NRDC’s partner outreach and engagement efforts. Adrianna launched NRDC’s Latino outreach efforts in 2004 with the report, “Hidden Danger, Environmental Health Threats in the Latino Community,” which highlighted how environmental pollution impacts U.S. Latinos. In 2011, Adrianna updated her research with an emphasis on air pollution in “U.S. Latinos and Air Pollution: A Call to Action.” Adrianna founded and leads Voces, a national coalition of Latino business, health, community leaders and organizations representing millions of Latinos, joined together to advocate for action on climate change and the development of our country’s renewable, clean energy sources. This effort engages key Latino stakeholders to create a national echo-chamber of political, policy and cultural influentials to weigh in alongside decision-makers in support of climate action. Whether advocating for human rights at Amnesty International, for women at the National Organization for Women’s Legal Defense and Education Fund, as a public defender, or as an environmental advocate, Adrianna recognizes the importance and strength of working in partnership, engaging diverse voices and broadening networks to achieve the best outcomes.
