Alicia Bonner is an experienced communications and participatory design strategist who serves as an Assistant Director in the Business & Society Program. In this capacity, she principally directs the annual Business & Society Summit, a closed-door exchange for organizations looking to curb the impact of short-termism on business thinking and create a new framework for the role of business in building healthy societies.
Alicia previously served as an event producer and a communications and partnership strategist for private foundations, funder collaboratives, and a variety of nonprofits. Prior to her work as an independent consultant, she worked in international development, managing projects in more than ten countries and guiding PYERA Global’s rebrand and 25th anniversary campaign. She has extensive experience helping foundations and nonprofits translate their purpose into meaningful stories and community impact.
Alicia has also served as a field organizer, an adjunct professor, and a development director. She holds a Masters in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins, a BA in Political Science from Barnard College, and an executive education certificate in Leading the Sustainability Transformation from the University of Vermont. She is a LUMA Institute-certified human-centered design facilitator.
Alicia lives in western Connecticut with her family.
