Amy Stursberg is currently the CEO of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Foundation. Ms. Stursberg helped launch the Schwarzman Scholars program and realize its vision to build a global community of future leaders who will serve to deepen understanding between China and the rest of the world.  Additionally, Ms. Stursberg works closely with Mr. Schwarzman to strategically build and scale his transformative philanthropic investments in a variety of sectors, including the MIT Schwarzman College of Computing, a $350 million investment; the Schwarzman Center for Humanities at the University of Oxford, £150 million investment; and the Yale Schwarzman Center, $150 million investment. Additionally, she oversees a portfolio of grants focusing on higher education, culture, historic preservation, etc. Ms. Stursberg was the Executive Director of the Blackstone Charitable Foundation from 2008-2021 and directed over $110 million in grants from the Foundation. Ms. Stursberg created and oversaw Blackstone’s Entrepreneurship Initiative, bringing four innovative programs to twenty states and across four countries including the Blackstone LaunchPad which has supported students on more than 75 college campuses. She also designed and implemented Blackstone Connects, the firm’s global employee engagement program which now sees 90% employee participation. 

Prior to joining Blackstone in 2008, Ms. Stursberg served on the transition team for Governor Eliot Spitzer. From 2006-08 Ms. Stursberg managed the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation’s $90 million cultural and community grants programs in Lower Manhattan as part of the revitalization efforts after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Previously, Ms. Stursberg served as the final Director of the September 11th Fund. There, she helped to manage the $500 million fund to support communities, individuals and organizations impacted by the events of 9/11. Ms. Stursberg has held various government positions including at the Office of Management and Budget at the Office of the Mayor in the City of New York, as well as at the Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C. Ms. Stursberg received her BA with honors from the University of Michigan and her Master’s in Public Policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. 

Throughout her career, she has held leadership positions on the boards of several non-profit institutions and government councils. Currently, she sits on the boards of the Stephen A. Schwarzman Foundation, Stephen A. Schwarzman Education Foundation, Tectonic Theater Project, MIT Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing (SERC) and Dean’s Advisory Council (DAC).
