Arely Tellez is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology at Loyola University Chicago. Arely is working as a community contact tracer for COVID-19 in Chicago. She is immensely proud to be part of this large- scale effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic which has affected millions of people’s lives. Arely plans to go to medical school to begin her career as a doctor and intends to offer her services to low- income families. Arely Tellez is an engaged and committed young Latinx leader who has strong ties to her community. Regarding her future, she said “Despite the programs that the government offers, there are many low-income families in my community that lack the proper medical assistance that they deserve. Once I achieve my career as a doctor, this is something I want to change”. Arely plans to go to medical school to begin her career as a doctor and intends to exclusively offer her services to low- income families. Selected as a 2021 Aspen Young Leaders Fellow-Chicago.
