Carlos Vera (Washington, DC) currently is an associate at Megaphone Strategies, a PR firm ran by women and people of color and founded by Van Jones. He is a strong believer in the power of storytelling. While in school, he founded Justice for AU Workers, one of the largest student-led labor organizations in the country that advocates for service workers of color. His fight for justice led to the creation of a full-ride scholarship program for the children of Aramark workers, one of the first of its kind in the country. His op-eds have been published on NBC Latino, Huffington Post and The Hill. His life story been featured by El Tiempo Latino, Define American, BeVisible, The Victory Valley Daily Press and he has appeared on Telemundo, Fox News and Univision.
