As the brand strategy and marketing lead, Carner Derron elevates Aspen Digital’s reputation where tech and information challenges meet democracy and diverse communities. Serving the program’s mission to make our interconnected world accessible, safe, and inclusive, Carner brings Aspen Digital’s brand to life through strategic marketing, content development, and creative services.
With a background in social impact agency work, Carner came to the Aspen Institute in 2020 to build Aspen Digital’s brand, marketing, and communications practice from the ground up. Five years later, the program is one of the Institute’s largest and most sophisticated, with strong brand recognition among policymakers and corporate leaders. Previously, she supported major nonprofits and corporate social responsibility efforts at the global firm Weber Shandwick. Prior to that, she worked at the DC-based creative studio Little Unicorns.
Carner Derron has a BA in History from Vassar College. She is passionate about the power of a good nonprofit brand to advance the public interest, and brings energy and curiosity to her work.
