Carter (she/her) serves as the Editorial Production Associate for the Office of Curriculum and Moderators, producing readings and securing rights for Aspen Global Leadership Network seminars. Beyond her work with the AGLN, Carter supports book production for Aspen Executive Seminars and custom seminars, assists in OCM’s moderator workshops, and helps maintain the Institute’s historical collection of readings. Carter brings a keen desire to realize the values and projects of the Institute and an ongoing commitment to equity, accessibility, and continuous learning.
Carter holds both a bachelor’s and master’s in English from Penn State University and has a background in education and publishing. She served as a Teach for America teacher in Tulsa, OK from 2017–2019. During her career in education, Carter also worked as a City Year impact manager and an elementary school reading specialist. At the start of the pandemic, Carter shifted her focus to the world of publishing, leading her to complete the Columbia Publishing Course in 2021. Prior to joining Aspen, she worked in sales and marketing at Island Press.
Originally from Maryland’s Eastern Shore, Carter lives in Del Ray, VA, and enjoys reading, birding, kayaking, and hiking with her dog Succotash.
