Devin Murphy is a senior fellow at the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program and a national thought leader on economic mobility and the racial wealth gap. He is the founder and principal of Integrated Purpose, a national consulting firm that supports philanthropists, impact investors, and social enterprises in creating a society where all can benefit from the prosperity we collectively produce. As a senior fellow, Devin will support the Future of Wealth portfolio, where he will focus on mobilizing funders behind shared strategies for inclusive wealth building and ownership for low-wealth households.
Devin brings nearly two decades of experience as a consultant and expert advisor to the nation’s largest institutional philanthropies. Before launching Integrated Purpose, Devin was a Partner at The Bridgespan Group, where he led the firm’s sourcing and diligence capability – ultimately supporting billions of dollars of new philanthropic capital going toward economic mobility, racial justice, and place-based change in the United States. Devin was also an associate partner at the Entangled Group, a venture studio and consultancy focused on innovation in education.
His insights have been covered in major publications, including The Atlantic, Forbes, ImpactAlpha, Stanford Social Innovation Review, and TechCrunch. Devin earned a BA with highest honors in Interdisciplinary Studies in Society and Culture from Emory University and completed doctoral coursework in the American Studies program at New York University.
